AQAN Executive Committee Meeting No.2/2019 and 2019 AQAN Seminar and Roundtable Meeting

As a member of the AQAN Executive Committee, ONESQA led by Ms.Khanidtha Tangwarasittichai, Acting Director of ONESQA accompanying by Dr. Somyot Cheejaeng, Head of Policy and Strategy Bureau, Ms. Nualsupak Phunsap, Chief of International Affairs Unit, Ms. Katewarang Pisutnarakul, International Relations Officer an Mr.Phongphan Pheaung-am, Legal Officer participated in ASEAN Quality Assurance Network Executive Committee Meeting No.2/2019 and 2019 AQAN Seminar and Roundtable Meeting to be held on 18 – 20 September 2019 in Davao City, the Philippines.
The AQAN ECM No. 2/2019 included discussions on AQAN activities for 2019-2020, treasurer’s report including comments and suggestions and other financial matters, AQAN membership matters, updated list of activities under the SHARE Project. At the meeting, Dr. Somyot Cheejaeng in the capacity of the Treasurer was responsible for preparing and reporting the progress of AQAN’s audit and financial reports for the fiscal year 2019 (1 June 2018 – 31 May 2019). In conjunction with the AQAN ECM No.2/2019, the 2019 AQAN Seminar and Roundtable Meeting under the theme “Quality Assurance in ASEAN Higher Education: Milestones and Challenges” was hosted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the Philippines at the Malayan Colleges Mindanao in Davao. The seminar explored milestones and challenges for quality assurance in ASEAN Higher Education and shared experience on AQAF (ASEAN Quality Assurance Framework) and AQRF (ASEAN Quality Reference Framework) with interesting presentations from fellow countries in ASEAN e.g. Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) as AQAN partnership. Furthermore, ONESQA will host the next ECM and 2020 AQAN Seminar and Roundtable Meeting in Thailand.
In this opportunity, Ms. Khanidtha Tangwarasittichai, Acting Director of ONESQA and Prof. Ir. Dr. Khairul Salleh Bin Mohamed Sahari, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Quality Assurance) of Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), on behalf of Mr. Rahmah Mohamed, Chief Executive Officer, was signed the renewal of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to reinforce relations between ONESQA and MQA on collaboration in the field of quality assurance in higher education such as exchanging information, providing staff development opportunities and exchanging of experts/specialists.
