Regional Conference on Quality Assurance of Higher Education in Asia-Pacific

On 15 June 2017, Associate Professor Damrong Thaveesaengsakulthai, Member of the Committee for Development of Assessment Systems for Higher Education and ONESQA officers attended the Regional Conference on Quality Assurance of Higher Education in Asia-Pacific, 15 – 16 June 2017, at Wuzhou Guest House in Shenzhen, People’s Republic of China. The Regional Conference was organized by UNESCO Bangkok Office in cooperation with the International Centre for Higher Education Innovation in Shenzhen.
The aim of the Asia-Pacific Regional Conference is to provide a platform for the exchanges of current status, needs, innovative practices and challenges that are related to quality assurance in higher education in Asia-Pacific. UNESCO Bangkok Office will bring result of this Regional Conference to inform the 2018 international conference on quality assurance in higher education organized by UNESCO Paris.
UNESCO Regional Conference in Shenzhen had invited Asia-Pacific and international practitioners and experts in the field of quality assurance to exchange and share their experiences with following purposes:
- Take stock of innovation policies and practices on quality assurance to produce a consolidated regional report on quality assurance in higher education;
- Build understanding of the links between QA, NQF and international recognition of qualifications;
- Raise awareness about quality assurance and new modes of learning such as MOOCs, blended learning; and
- Promote Asia-Pacific collaboration on development and cross-fertilization of quality assurance initiatives.
