ONESQA attended the AQAN Executive Committee Meeting No. 3/2017 and 2017 AQAN Seminar and Roundtable Meeting

On 24 September 2017, RADM Wachara Karunyavanij, Deputy Director of ONESQA in the capacity of President of ASEAN Quality Assurance Network (AQAN) chaired the AQAN Executive Committee Meeting (ECM) No. 3/2017 and attended the Forth ASEAN Plus Three Quality Assurance Expert Meeting at the Champasak Grand Hotel, Champasak, Lao PDR.
The AQAN Executive Meeting No.3/2017 was joined by the executive committee members from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. The delegates from ONESQA, Thailand included Mr. Ekaphong Lauhathiansind, Senior Expert; Ms. Napaporn Songsaeng, Head of Assessment and Certification Bureau; Ms. Pattama Sinjumpasak, Chief of Foreign Relations Unit; and Ms. Sininard Wangdee, Foreign Relations Officer.
The AQAN Executive Committee Meeting 3/2017 acknowledged as follows: (1) 2017 AQAN activities, (2) AQAN financial matters, (3) cooperation under EU SHARE Project, (4) 2017 AQAN Strategic Plan 2018-2022, (5) New membership application, (6) 2017 AQAN Seminar and Roundtable Meeting.
In the evening, the Forth ASEAN Plus Three Quality Assurance Expert Meeting was held at the same venue. There were delegates from ASEAN+3 countries led by Dr. Syun Tutiya from the National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement of Higher Education (NIAD-QA), Japan, a representative from Korean Council for University Education (KCUE), South Korea, together with AQAN Executives members attended the meeting. The meeting acknowledged the draft of ASEAN+3 Guidelines on Credit Transfer for Exchange Students including a Conversion Table of the Credit Transfer Systems, and Pakse Statement for Promoting Quality Assurance of International Collaborative Programs.
On 25 September 2017, RADM Wachara Karunyavanij, President of AQAN, delivered an opening speech at the 2017 AQAN Seminar. The seminar entitled “The Role of Quality Assurance in Higher Education in ASEAN Economic Community” was held by Ministry of Education and Sports, Lao PDR and AQAN on 25-26 September 2017. The seminar presented guidelines and good practices for the alignment of national QA system of Lao PDR with the ASEAN Quality Assurance Framework (AQAF) and the ASEAN Qualifications Reference Framework (AQRF); shared knowledge, challenges, and best practices of quality assurances in higher education among ASEAN member countries; and discussed on the role of quality assurance in ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). Mr. Ekaphong Lauhathiansind as a representative of ONESQA also presented the Higher Education Quality Assurance in Thailand.
On 26 September 2017, RADM Wachara Karunyavanij, President of AQAN chaired 2017 the AQAN Roundtable Meeting. At the meeting, AQAN members discussed on 2017 AQAN activities, AQAN financial matters, cooperation under EU SHARE Project, 2017 AQAN Strategic Plan 2018-2022, new membership application etc. The meeting concluded with the election of the new AQAN Executive Committee for 2018-2020. The results are listed as follows:

- Secretary: The Philippines,
- Assistant Secretary: Vietnam,
- Committee: Cambodia, Lao PDR, and
- Treasurer: Thailand.
