Attending the HEEACT – APQN 2017 Global Summit, themed on “Regional Cooperation and Harmonization: ASEAN Countries and East Asia in Quality Assurance of Higher Education” and Signing of MoU on External Quality Assessment Collaboration between ONESQA and Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT)

ONESQA delegation had attended the HEEACT – APQN 2017 Global Summit, hosted by HEEACT on 21-22 September 2017 at Chang Yung-Fa Foundation International Convention Center, Taipei. There were more than 140 attendants from Taiwan and many countries.
After the opening ceremony on 21 September 2017 Assoc. Prof. Dr. Namon Jeerungsuwan, the Director of ONESQA, and Prof. Dr. Angela Yung-Chi Hou, the Executive Director of HEEACT, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on External Quality Assessment Collaboration. ONESQA and HEEACT has developed closer collaboration due to the first and second MoU signing in 2009 and 2013 respectively. For the third MoU, both parties agreed to collaborate in relation to mutually agreed projects and activities for the benefit of both parties including collaboration on joint accreditation to support student mobility, and undertaking research on quality assurance related issues.
In the afternoon of 21 September 2017, Mr. Ekaphong Lauhathiansind had presented the cooperation on QA development in ASEAN. On 22 September 2017 Asst. Prof. Dr. Panarit Sethakul, the Chair of Committee for Development and Assessment Systems for Vocational Education, had presented about Thailand QA Systems including the overview of National Qualifications Framework (NQF), Thailand Qualifications Framework on Higher Education (TQF) and EQA systems of Higher Education in Thailand, under the topic of “Compatibility and Cooperation between Quality Assurance and National Qualification Framework,” as a part of the closed meeting section, at HEEACT Office.
